Basic Metabolic Rate
Basic Metabolic Rate is the amount of energy you would need if you would sit
behind a desk all day. Resting Energy Expenditure, slightly less, is the
amount of energy needed if you are totally relaxed (just woken up, for
example). Do not take these values as the gospel!
Professionals calculate these numbers by doing measurements on what you
breathe in and out, not by doing some mathematics on your body size.
